She is responsible for the delivery of law of armed conflict training as well as academic support on field training exercises. She was heavily involved in the inclusion of the WPS agenda into military training. She completed her PhD in Politics at the University of Sheffield where she explored target selection in US drone strikes. Beyond teaching, she is highly engaged in a range of defence engagement activities, having delivered courses on a range of topics to senior officers in over a dozen countries and supported international LOAC competitions. Her research interests include military ethics, the law of armed conflict, human security, and the WPS agenda.\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eThompson, Max:\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e - Dr Max Thompson is Deputy Head of Department in Defence and International Affairs at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He is responsible for oversight of the Army Higher Education Programme, which has included integrating WPS into academic exercises. He completed his DPhil in International Relations at St Edmund Hall, Oxford writing on the role of friendship in US foreign policy and alliance formation. Before arriving at RMAS, he held lectureships at several Oxford colleges and worked as an international consultant at the International Trade Centre in Geneva. He has delivered defence engagement courses on international conflict management, human security in military operations, and counterterrorism all around the world.
