Taylor studied writing at Vanderbilt University, and, after, wrote freelance for magazines such as \u003ci\u003eMen's Journal, Oxford American\u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci\u003eNational Geographic Adventure\u003c\/i\u003e, among others. He took a full-time writer's post at \u003ci\u003eSouthern Living\u003c\/i\u003e in 2007. After moving to New York and pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Brooklyn College, Taylor launched \u003ci\u003e\u003cb\u003eWildsam\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e out of his 500-square foot apartment in 2012. The original Nashville guide caught the attention of national media and thoughtful travelers alike, and in 2015, \u003ci\u003eNational Geographic\u003c\/i\u003e awarded Wildsam the \u003cb\u003e\"Traveler 50\"\u003c\/b\u003e award.
