He took a full-time writer's post at \u003ci\u003eSouthern Living\u003c\/i\u003e in 2007. After moving to New York and pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Brooklyn College, Taylor launched \u003ci\u003e\u003cb\u003eWildsam\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e out of his 500-square foot apartment in 2012.
