Vest at M.I.T.\u003c\/i\u003e (Lexington Books, 2015), hailed by critics as \"a tour de force of interdisciplinary scholarship.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThroughout his career, Daas has received numerous honors including the 2013 ACADIA Society Award of Excellence for longstanding contributions to design computing. In 2011, he became the youngest educator and second person of Asian origin chosen as an Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture Distinguished Professor, the highest national recognition for an architectural educator. He earned degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (1990), Kansas State University (1994), and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania (2013).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eAndrew John Wit\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eAndrew John Wit is co-founder of WITO, Laboratory for Intelligent Environments, and assistant professor of Digital Practice at Temple University's Division of Architecture and Environmental Design. His research and teaching focus on novel building systems generated through the integration of lightweight composites, digital tools, fabrication and robotics. Wit serves on the board of directors and scientific technical committee for ACADIA.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eHis projects and research have been recognized with a 2007 AIA Best of Practice recognition for UTenSAils design-build project, a 2007 IFAI Outstanding Achievement Award for the Advanced Fabrics Exhibition structure, and the 2013 Guangzhou Vanke Project of the Year. His research has been published in academic forums including ACSA, SIGRADI, ACADIA, CAADRIA and AAG, as well as trade magazines such as 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, Interior Design Magazine and Texas Architect.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWit's research investigates the intersection between intelligent machines, lightweight materials and novel design methodologies that result in new processes for design and innovatively constructed artifacts. Through experimentations with computational systems, digital production tools and robotically placed composites such as pre-impregnated carbon fiber reinforced polymers, his research questions current methods of building while reimagining structures capable of being easily fabricated in factories, on-site or in unknown environments.
