Labarta is a queer fiction writer and immigrant currently living in the northwest of England. Originally from Madrid, she's lived in Athlone, Edinburgh, Lancaster and Plymouth before settling back in Lancaster (one of the most gothic and witchy towns in England). She has published a collection of middle-grade novels -- \u003ci\u003eLos Pentasónicos\u003c\/i\u003e (Edebé, 2008-2010) and two novellas -- \u003ci\u003eMcTavish Manor \u003c\/i\u003e(Holland House, 2016) and \u003ci\u003eKabuki \u003c\/i\u003e(Dairea, 2017). Her forthcoming novel, \u003ci\u003eThe Three Lives of Saint Ciarán\u003c\/i\u003e, (Blackwater Press, 2024) was partially inspired by her time in Ireland, where she lived near the intriguing ruins of Clonmacnoise. Her short stories have won awards like the Autonomous University of Madrid Short Story Prize, and have been published in places such as \u003ci\u003eExtra Teeth\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eToasted Cheese Literary Journal\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eOranges Journal\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003ethe Lancashire Short Stories anthology\u003c\/i\u003e.
