She frequently gives workshops and serves as a visiting artist at venues including Haystack, Oxbow, Penland, and Arrowmont. UWGB awarded her the 2011 Founders Award for Excellence in Scholarship and she received SECAC's 2016 Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2018, she served as ErasmusVisiting Lecturer at the University of Kassel, Germany, and as artist-in-residence at The Burren College of Artin Ireland.\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eLouis, Edward S.:\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e - EDWARD S. LOUIS (pen name for E. L. Risden, Professor of English, St. Norbert College) lives, teaches, and writes in Wisconsin. His hobbies include daily practice of tai chi chuan and Mediterranean cooking.
