In 1970 he began illustrating horror and science-fiction stories for Warren Publishing. His stories appeared in \u003ci\u003eCreepy\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eEerie\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eVampirella\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003e1984\u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci\u003eComix International\u003c\/i\u003e. He also colored several episodes of Will Eisner's \u003ci\u003eSpirit\u003c\/i\u003e. In 1975, when Moebius, Druillet, and Jean-Pierre Dionnet started publishing the magazine \u003ci\u003eMétal Hurlant\u003c\/i\u003e in France, Corben submitted some of his stories to them. He continued his work for the franchise in America, where the magazine was called \u003ci\u003eHeavy Metal\u003c\/i\u003e. In 1976 he adapted a short Robert E. Howard story in \u003ci\u003eBloodstar\u003c\/i\u003e. In 2012 he was elected to the The Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.
