Originally from Gunma, Japan, he was raised in the city of Maebashi. By the time he was 19 he entered the world of comics drawing short stories for Media Factory's \u003ci\u003eComic Flapper\u003c\/i\u003e (\u003ci\u003eMy Neighbor Seki\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003e7 Billion Needles\u003c\/i\u003e).
