She lives with her husband in Atlanta. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eChris Soentpiet (pronounced: \u003ci\u003esoon-peet)\u003c\/i\u003e is a recipient of a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators; has received accolades from the International Reading Association, \u003ci\u003eParents\u003c\/i\u003e magazine, the American Library Association, the \u003ci\u003eSchool Library Journal, \u003c\/i\u003e the \u003ci\u003eChicago Tribune, \u003c\/i\u003e the \u003ci\u003eSan Francisco Chronicle, \u003c\/i\u003e and the Smithsonian; and has been recognized by the American Society of Portrait Artists Foundation.
