She has written and edited 16 books and numerous articles, and she's a past editor of the Journal of Research on Technology in Education (JRTE) (2002-2012; 2016-2018). Schrum is also a past president of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). Sandi Sumerfield, Ed.D., has been a classroom teacher, literacy coach, administrator, adjunct faculty and education consultant. Her research and teaching focus on visual literacy skills to empower students as writers and thinkers.
