She was an instructor at the University of Maryland for four years and later spent 27 years at the University of Delaware - first as an instructor, and then as an associate professor. While there, she taught undergraduate- and graduate-level pharmacology, pathophysiology, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and medical-surgical nursing in classroom and clinical settings.
