In high school, Morgan further honed her writing skills when she was selected for a special 2-year program that replaced traditional high-school English class with a more intensive writing-focused class that allowed students to submit pieces for competitions. Later, when Morgan attended college at Rice University, she continued to pursue her love of language by studying linguistics and second language acquisition. After graduation, she worked as a professional copywriter for several years before pursuing a master's degree in advertising, with a focus on copywriting, from The University of Texas. While Morgan enjoyed the creative environment of the advertising industry, she felt like she was missing out by always telling someone else's story instead of her own. For years, she filled this gap by writing children's books for friends and family as gifts or remembrances. Because those books were always among the kids' favorites, she decided to share those stories with a wider audience by publishing her children's books.
