He is an O. Henry Award short-story winner and author of ten\u003cbr\u003ebooks. His introduction to \u003ci\u003eWhat Kansas Means to Me: Twentieth Century\u003cbr\u003eWriters on the Sunflower State\u003c\/i\u003e (1991) was titled \"Afflicted\u003cbr\u003ewith Affection,\" and he remains so. In 2010 he created the Thomas Fox\u003cbr\u003eAverill Kansas Studies Collection at Washburn's Mabee Library.\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eVonholten, Leslie:\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e - Leslie VonHolten writes about land and culture in the\u003cbr\u003eprairie and Great Plains regions.
