After two decades as an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church, he became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and later served a mission in England. Upon his return, he earned degrees in education, philosophy, theology, and biblical studies and began a career with the Church Educational System, teaching seminary for four years in southeastern Idaho. Since 2003, he has been a professor of world religions at Brigham Young University. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eDr. Gaskill has been married to his wife, Lori, since 1989. They have five children, and three grandchildren.
