Instead he volunteered in his son's class and found immediate connection with kids wanting to mess around with science and build stuff. Together they made a Rube Goldburg machine, an electricity board, and roasted hot dogs with solar energy. This lead to a job teaching \"shop\" to kindergardeners at a Montessori School and to teaching woodworking and science to 5-12 year olds for the parks. It was the most interesting, fun, and meaningful work he had ever done. Out of that work came two books, Woodshop for Kids and Builder Boards.
