In Birch Cathedral, the reader will find a narrative that is uplifting without being a comedy. Magical without being a fantasy. Humorous and positive without being Pollyannaish. Spiritual without being religious. True-to-life and thoughtful without being disheartening. At its core, Birch Cathedral confronts and explores our most basic fears about life and death. The characters in Birch Cathedral choose not to let age define them. She has written a variety of genres over her lifetime: poetry by candlelight in an apartment near the University of Minnesota in her youth, short stories written for a creative writing class (taught by well-known author Mark Winegardner) while she pursued a master's degree, and numerous articles, some published (The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Lakelander), most not. More recently, she has co-authored a children's book, Girls Gone Great, and now presents her debut novel, Birch Cathedral. Ms. Berg has served as her partner's editor in his writing career and publication of ten novels. An unlikely pursuit at best, she spent many years as a practitioner of the martial art of karate. She owns a rescue dog, Lena, (most assuredly of her own Scandinavian heritage) who brings her comfort and joy as well as her numerous houseplants with whom she has daily conversations. Like the characters in Birch Cathedral, she has come to terms with her own mortality which, of course, is inevitable if one is fortunate to live long enough.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0831/4771/8930/files/img_8bcf8462-6364-4a76-9cc0-4726ca38c082.jpg?v=1765977112
