Little\u003cbr\u003e is still known here in Germany about the concrete origins of the art \u003cbr\u003emovement. The exhibition and catalogue of the same name attempts a broad\u003cbr\u003e examination of the group's origins: with the focus on the \u003cbr\u003ereconstruction of the movement prior to its official establishment in \u003cbr\u003eNovember 1948. It aims to present a representative cross-section of the \u003cbr\u003emovement that includes the largest possible number of artists as well as\u003cbr\u003e the greatest possible concentration of forms of expression and topics \u003cbr\u003echaracteristic of the movement. Roughly fifty paintings, thirty \u003cbr\u003esculptural works, fifty graphic reproductions and photographs as well as\u003cbr\u003e individual ceramics and textiles from international collections are \u003cbr\u003epresented. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cbr\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFirst consideration of the origins of this art \u003cbr\u003emovement, which was so central to the development of the art of the \u003cbr\u003etwentieth century \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eCoBrA\u003c\/b\u003e gehört zu den wichtigsten \u003cbr\u003eKünstlergruppen des Informel. Der Name leitet sich aus den \u003cbr\u003eAnfangsbuchstaben der drei Hauptstädte Kopenhagen, Brüssel und Amsterdam\u003cbr\u003e ab - die Zentren, von denen aus die CoBrA-Künstler\/-innen agierten. \u003cbr\u003eÜber die konkreten Anfänge der Kunstbewegung gibt es hierzulande nur \u003cbr\u003ewenig Kenntnis. Die Ausstellung und der gleichnamige Katalog versuchen \u003cbr\u003edie Anfänge breit angelegt zu untersuchen: Im Fokus steht die \u003cbr\u003eRekonstruktion der Bewegung vor der offiziellen Gründung im November \u003cbr\u003e1948. Abgebildet werden soll ein repräsentativer Querschnitt der \u003cbr\u003eBewegung, der sowohl eine möglichst hohe Anzahl an Künstler\/-innen als \u003cbr\u003eauch eine möglichst hohe Dichte an für die Bewegung charakteristischen \u003cbr\u003eAusdrucksformen und Themenkreisen umfasst.
