He was a board member of NANC (now the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) and FIRE (Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals). He also counseled and taught at CCEF (Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) for fifteen years. Wayne and his wife Carol have been married since 1957. They have four adult children and twenty-two grandchildren.
