Her forthcoming monograph examines contemporary Yakurr art genres from a postcolonial theoretical standpoint. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e \u003cb\u003e Monica Blackmun Vison?\u003c\/b\u003e is Associate Professor in the School of Art and Visual Studies of the University of Kentucky, USA, where she teaches courses on African art and architecture, and art historical methods. The principle author of \u003ci\u003eA History of Art in Africa\u003c\/i\u003e (2000, 2008), she has also published \u003ci\u003eConstructing African Art Histories for the Lagoons of C?te d'Ivoire\u003c\/i\u003e (2010), and contributed articles to \u003ci\u003eArt Bulletin and African Arts\u003c\/i\u003e.
